Elle's Studio Guest Designer {Process Video Included}

Recently I got one of those happy news emails. The one with fun scrapbooking opportunities inside. The opportunity was guest designing for Elle's Studio. I designed for Elle's Studio on a regular basis a couple of years ago. I love her products and have missed creating with them. I was thrilled with the chance to dive back into her products again.

I created two layouts. One featuring the March kit, both featuring the new Little Moments collection. When I created the layout with the March kit, I filmed a process video too. This layout came together so quickly with journaling cards and a grid design.

 Here's the completed layout:

 

The second layout I created with the Little Moments collection and my Silhouette Cameo. I used my Cameo to create a custom title. I used two fonts (a script font and a block font). After I cut the title from patterned paper I outlined the die cuts with a precision pen.

Titles Die Cut into the Background

Christmas preparations are in full swing at our house, that's why it's been really quiet here on the blog. We're running from school events to church events and doing a little bit of shopping here and there. (I'm *almost* done shopping...not even close on wrapping though.) I'm looking forward to having the kids home from school for a while throughout the holidays. We're going to spend lots of time baking, reading, watching Christmas movies, and spending time with family. Now, if only my Mr. had a few extra days off work... 

While I taking it easy a few days ago I was very slowly working on some projects for Elle's Studio (they were supposed to be revealed on the 10th, oops!). For my last month working with Elle's Studio I decided I wanted to do my three projects with my titles die cut right into the background of my pages. This technique works best when you have a title that isn't very long and you use a blocky font.

 I cut "Cowgirl Princess" out with my Silhouette and outlined it with a black pen. I then placed a piece of red patterned paper behind the white cardstock...and I had an easy peasy title!

This next project is a little bit different because I used 2 fonts. I used a script font for part of the title and I used a blocky font for the main word in my title.

 If you're going to use this technique with a script font make sure the title is short enough that you can cut the letters in a large size.

 Instead of putting one solid sheet of patterned paper behind the "ROLL" portion of the title I put several strips of patterned papers behind the white cardstock.

 This last project was the most difficult. I did a lot of welding and very carefully placed the words in the title on this one. I wanted to make room for the embellishments on top of the white cardstock. I used a script font and a blocky font on this one too.

 Isn't that an adorable little tree? It's a cut file from Elle's Studio. You can find it HERE. I cut the tree out of green patterned paper and added a few enamel dots to make ornaments.

I love how my background die cut titles turned out. It was an easy (and inexpensive) way to make a big impact using only patterned paper and cardstock. Do you have an easy way to make your titles stand out? I'd love to hear your ideas.

Elle's Studio November Reveal

Today is the 10th. That means it's time for the Elle's Studio reveal (it's my birthday too). We'll talk a little more about my birthday tomorrow. I've got some photos that I know you'll love.

The first layout I created was using the November kit and the Good Cheer collection.

 I think the part of this layout that I love the most is the outlining I did with a black pen. That's not something that I typically do but I thought that it added another layer of dimension on the project.

Don't you love the look on her face?!??! She was so genuinely excited and happy when she opened her doll.

The second project I have to share is using the Good Cheer collection (and the Christmas Ephemera Pack. This layout documents my sons favorite present from Christmas 2013 as well.

 That diamond shaped patterned paper was so easy to fussy cut and made such a huge impact on the design of the page.

My last gallery project for this month was a project using the Good Cheer collection (it's almost Christmas, right?!?!).

This one isn't really a Christmas project it's just a winter project. I used the Winter Ephemera pack on this one.

Elle's Studio Blog Hop

Welcome to stop #1 on the Elle's Studio blog hop! I'm excited to share with you a layout I created using the Sycamore Lane collection. This is the perfect Fall/everyday collection. On this layout I used it as an everyday collection. It's about my son and his Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches. You can't get more "everyday" than having a PB&J!

The journaling on this layout documents how much my little man loves his PB&J and how he tears the crust off the sandwich before he starts eating. (He also loves a glass of chocolate milk with his PB&J lunch.)

 I used the grid on the background paper to create a large diagonal line to draw the eye to the title and photos. Here's the completed layout:

Family Photos Mini Album

Recently, Elle's Studio sent me these adorable wood veneer mini album covers.

I combined these wood veneer covers with the October Kit, and a few bits and pieces from the Sycamore Lane collection to create a mini album showcasing our recent family photos.

 I loved the detail on the wood veneer cover that I didn't want to do much embellishing on it. I wanted the wood to stand out.

There isn't a ton of journaling in this album it's mostly a fun decoration to sit on the entry way table in our living room.

I love photos of the girls together and the boys together.

On this page I added a transparency with a a little bit of flair. 

This two page spread just simply shows the kids ages at the time the photos were taken.

And last but not least...a page for mom & dad :)

Elle's Studio October Reveal

Hello! It's Monday morning. I'm getting caught up on a few things that we missed accomplishing over the weekend. I'm working on some scrapbooking projects, laundry, and housework. I'm trying to get things done so I can maybe get a little bit of downtime while the kids are taking naps.
Friday was reveal day for Elle's Studio design team gallery. I have two projects to share today and then I'll have the third (a mini album) to share in a few days. This month I worked Elle's two new collections (Sycamore Lane and Good Cheer). Both of these collections are in stock you can find them HERE.

Here's what I created with the Good Cheer collection:
The wood veneer that goes with this collection is adorable! I used a lot of them on this layout and I know I'll use the rest of the package. Yes, they're that cute! I rarely use and *entire* package of embellishments. It seems like there's always one or two pieces that I just don't work into my designs.

I added our names in letter stickers to a 3x4 journaling card and machine stitched them to make sure they didn't move and to add a little bit of texture. I forgot to check whether each person was 'naughty' or 'nice' though. I'll have to make sure I do that before I add it to my album.

 This layout documents a silly photo we took in front of our Christmas tree.

Up next is a layout I created with the Sycamore collection. This collection is so much fun because it's so versatile. I can be an Autumn collection or it can easily be used for everyday photos. I used this collection to document a photo of my kiddos and me when we were at our recent family photo shoot.

 There are so many cute little bits and pieces that are about being thankful, perfect for family photos.

The cork pieces that go with this collection are adorable! So cute! It's another package of embellishments that I will use every last bit of.
