Hey friends, did you know that Bella Blvd puts out a newsletter? If you didn't, well, now you do. I have a project in the February edition of the newsletter.

I was given a challenge for creating a layout for this newsletter. The challenge I was given to create with for this newsletter was: use a 5x7 photo, use a chevie clear cut, and the Valentina collection.

 When I dug into my collection of photos to see what 5x7 photos I had on-hand. I found 2 photos. One was a photo of my 3 kiddos that I had taken before school started a couple of years ago. The other photo was a photo of an elk that I took when our family went to Yellowstone National Park. As much as I would like to tell you that I used the photo of the elk, I didn't though. Wouldn't it be awesome if I could have worked a photo of an elk with a Valentines collection? I couldn't figure out how to work in the photo of the elk with all the pink, red, black, and hearts. I did, however, work lots of handstitching, hearts, and clear cuts into this layout. Handmade Valentines

I love Valentines Day not as a mushy romantic holiday but as a fun holiday where we have a family dinner and celebrate my little girl's birthday. We have such a fun time celebrating Valentines Day. The kids and I spend lots of time making and sending Valentines. The Valentines I have to share with you today were created with the Valentina collection from Bella Blvd. This collection has a great traditional color palette with whimsical graphics, flamingos, donuts, and glasses. It's SO much FUN!

Pink and white bakers twine and a pink button are the perfect addition to the border of this card. This is a technique I use often on my cards.

This card features a hand cut pink heart and some hand stitching with bright pink embroidery thread.

The last card in this set features a 3x4 journaling card that I trimmed down to fit on the front of the card. I adhered the 3x4 card with foam dimensional adhesive over crochet thread that I wrapped around the card base.

DIY Mini Valentines Pinata's

Yes, Valentines Day will be here before you know it. The next few weeks at our house are crazy with school activities, birthdays, and other events. I created these cute DIY Mini Valentines Pinata's to get a jump start on my Valentines Day projects. These pinata's are SO easy and fun to create. This would be a great project to include your children with.  

Each year for Valentines Day we have a fun dinner at home with our kids. We prefer hanging out at home on Valentines night instead of braving the crowded restaurant scene. I created a mini pinata for each of my kids. I plan on putting a mini pinata on each of the kids plates for our Valentines dinner. Each pinata is filled with fun Valentines treats for each kid.

These pinatas are so easy to make. The fringe comes with the adhesive already on it. All you have to do is peel the backing off and stick it to the pinata.

I combined these pinata's with die cuts from the new "Be Mine" collection from Pebbles. I adhered the die cuts with dimesional foam adhesive tape.

Life at Our Home

A Life at Our Home post is long over due. (You can find my last post HERE). I'm so excited for this Summer. All of the kids are out of school. It will be a quiet, lazy Summer for us. We're planning very few events/vacations. We're going to have picnics in the park, read LOTS of books, watch a few movies, we're going to play with cousins (a lot), and just be for a couple of months. This past school year was a busy one for us. I spent SO much time running kids to and from school it seemed that I was always on the go. I'm ready for a break!

My little man graduated from Preschool today. I can't believe it. FYI I was NOT the mom sitting on the front row sniffling with streaks of mascara down her cheeks (I was in the second row, ha ha). 

Easy Handmade Valentines

Valentines Day is this week and it's not to late to create some easy handmade Valentines cards. I used to hate Valentines Day...until I had a sweet tiny baby girl the day before Valentines Day. She changed my whole outlook on the holiday! It's fun to have birthday to celebrate with all the pink and red hearts.

I have a few more Valentines to share with you that I created using the "We Go Together" collection from Pebbles. I used the 3x4 cut-a-part sheet to create both of these cards:

I cut out the sentiment portion for each of the cards.

I added a fancy doily under this sentiment card and added a few layers of patterned paper.

And this one just has a few layers of patterned paper.

Yes, there's still time to create your own easy handmade Valentines cards! :)

Handmade Valentines

In just a few days it will be Valentines Day! I love celebrating by creating a few handmade Valentines. I already shared a couple of the Valentines I made HERE. For all my Valentines I used the We Go Together collection from Pebbles. I chose this collection because of the traditional color palette (with a touch of teal) and the playful, fun, embellishments.
I used a ton of glitter heart stickers to create this card:

 Honestly, this is one of my all time favorite cards. It's so simple but it's still adorable.

The other card I created is very simple too with just some patterned paper and some stickers.

I created both of these cards in under 30 minutes. So easy and so cute and SO quick.
