Stamp & Scrapbook Expo Sketch Workshop

Hey friends, I'm so excited to tell you about the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo sketch workshops that I will be teaching.  First of all, I cannot tell you how over the moon excited I am about this. Teaching my own workshops has been a goal of mine for a VERY long time. I am so excited to be teaching a class that I'm passionate about. From start to finish, this class is mine! I've worked so hard picking products, designing the projects, writing the instructions, designing the sketch, and creating promotional content for the class. I've been working with the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo team on their blog for a couple of years now. I adore my Stamp & Scrapbook Expo team! They've captured my heart! I'm grateful every.single.day that I get to work with them. Guest Artist Becki Adams at Stamp & Scrapbook Expo #Beckiadams #SSBE2017 #SSBEworkshops
The first event I am teaching at this year is in Schaumburg, Il. This will be my first visit to the Chicago area. Have you ever been to the Chicago area? What should be on my "must see" list? I know my first stop will be for Chicago style PIZZA!! I'm a pizza girl, I'm sure pizza will never be the same to me after I have Chicago style pizza.
Okay, enough about pizza, onto the whole reason I will be in Illinois, my workshops!!!
While I'm at the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo in Schaumburg, I will be teaching 2 workshops. The first workshop is "One Sketch Three Ways". This class is all about using the same sketch in three different ways. In the class we'll make three layouts using products from PhotoPlay paper. Don't worry, If you don't finish all three layouts you'll take the product home with a step-by-step instruction sheet, photos of the finished layouts, AND the exclusive sketch that I designed for this class. (I'll be teaching this workshop on Saturday as well.) There are a few tickets left for this class. If you're in the Chicago/Schaumburg area, I'd love to meet you and have you in my class. You can purchase a ticket HERE. Make sure to come say hello, I cannot wait to meet my blog readers!

I don't want those of you who don't live in the Chicago area out so, I've created a couple of videos where I talk about the workshop AND included a process video of a layout that I created with a sketch.

Here's a video from my YouTube channel. (You can find a link to all the supplies, and the sketch in the notes of the video.)

The second video I created is on the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo YouTube channel. (I tell one of my most embarrassing moments in this video ;) There are a few more details about the layout and the class on the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo blog.
Tune in next week, I'll be back here to tell you about the second workshop that I'll be teaching at Stamp & Scrapbook Expo (this workshop is almost sold out *yay*). Thank you for stopping by, I'll see you again tomorrow

What are you Doing Tomorrow Night?

Tomorrow is FRIDAY, what are you doing tomorrow night? I'm going to be in my PJ's with a cup of hot chocolate...maybe some popcorn and I'll be hanging out with True Scrap attendees. We'll be having fun, laughing, and getting ready for tomorrows True Scrap Event. I can't wait! This is my favorite scrapbooking event of the YEAR! As I mentioned earlier this week, I'm thrilled to be a True Scrap instructor. I've had teaching at this event on my bucket list for a LONG time. I'm so excited to have finally reached this goal! True Stamp & Blogging Update

Hi friends, please "pardon the dust" as I'm making a few changes on my blog. I'm doing a lot of working on the design. I know it's been a little bit quiet around here but I think you'll like what I've got in store. Our Summer is going by very quickly and we've been busier than I want/anticipated. I'm ready for some quiet time! How is your Summer? Are you going on any amazing Summer adventures or are you enjoying a lazy Summer?

I've been spending a little bit of my Summer days taking scrapbooking classes. I love learning and watching videos of other designers create. Even though I've been a scrapbooking designer for a few years I always learn something new and I'm fascinated with watching others creative processes.

Craftsy Classes

I LOVE taking classes, even though I scrapbook as a profession, I love taking classes and learning everything I can about this amazing hobby. I have teachers that I love and when they teach a class, I take it, no matter what. Jen Gallacher is one of those teachers. This girl is amazing and I'm so happy to call her a dear friend of mine. Recently, Jen started teaching classes for Craftsy. I've taken her first Craftsy class and I LOVED it. Jen's style is so clean, creative, and easy to replicate. If you only take classes periodically or if you've never taken a class, or if you take classes all the time. Make sure you take this class: Jen Gallacher's Craftsy Class: Scrapbook Design & Storytelling: Beyond the Basics

I promise you'll love it!

I created this layout just after I finished her class using a concept from one of her lessons.

Jen always focuses on the story when she creates a layout. The layout I created also focuses on the story. The journaling is a little bit longer on this layout and I made sure that it was done in my handwriting. The story I wanted to tell was a little personal story and I felt that it was important to tell this story in my handwriting. Is there a way you add a personal touch to your layouts? I love to add my own handwriting to my layouts.

So, now you need to hurry and hop over to Craftsy and sign up for: Scrapbook Design & Storytelling: Beyond the Basics

Make sure you sign up for my newsletter so you'll get updated on all my classes and classes that I take.

FREE Scrapbooking Class

Introducing my next FREE class; Gifts from the Past: Scrapbooking Heritage Photos.
As a scrapbooker I'm often told, "If you like to scrapbook so much I should just give all of my old photo to you." I'm guessing that I'm not the only scrapbooker who has heard this phrase. Most of the time I graciously decline their offer and continue scrapbooking my own, current photos. I have, however, in inherited and taken on a couple of HUGE projects of scrapbooking heritage photos. (You can find the details to one of them HERE.)

Today, I am thrilled to announce that I will once again be teaching a Scrapinar with Lain Ehmann from layoutaday.com. This class is FREE and will be focused on Heritage Scrapbooking.

You do need to preregister for this class but it is completely FREE. You can register for this class HERE. I'll see you soon! I'm so excited for this class, I know you'll LOVE it!

You're Just My Type

Good morning! I hope you are well today! We're taking it easy today. The kids are home from school and we don't have any big plans, just being lazy.
I've got a new project to share with you today. There's a new issue up over at Paper Issues, "You're just my type" So, I'm sure you've got something to link up to this issue  (ideas would be Valentine's Day, love, relationships, typewriters, fonts, subway art, typography, etc.). When I was creating my project I just used lots of different fonts. I cut the title using my Silhouette.
I used the Cut & Paste collection designed by Amy Tan for American Crafts. The flowers are a rub on that I water colored.
The "love this" die cut is from the Cut & Paste collection, I cut "love" with my Silhouette too. I also cut the little feathers. I love how they turned out but they are so very delicate. I will cut them a little bigger next time I use them.
The sketch for this layout is a great way to use those photos that have an important story but not a fabulous photo to go with it. I snapped this photo with my ipad at night in dimly lit room. I love the story but the photo is not that great. I do absolutely love how the layout turned out though.
Make sure you link up your projects to Paper Issues. There's a $20 Gift Certificate up for grabs to the Paper Issues Store.

Teaming Up With Kerri Bradford & Bella Blvd

http://bellablvd.typepad.com/

Until a couple of weeks ago I'd never heard of Kerri Bradford Studios. What a great find! I fell head over heals in love with her designs! I had so much fun creating with her cut files. The only problem I had was choosing which design I would use. There were so many great choices!! I'm about to show you some of my very favorite projects! Bella Blvd and Kerri Bradford made my job easy peasy and LOTS of fun!

I'm a sucker for a die cut title. Kerri has so many to choose from.

And here's one last project :) This layout documents my husband and I being married for 13 years. Of all the layouts I created of the two of us this one is my favorite.

Bella Blvd are giving away some amazing prizes. I really wish I could win, make sure to check it out HERE.
