Feathers...Feathers...and more feathers

Bella Blvd's latest CHA release contained feathers! Not just paper feathers but actual real feathers! AND they come in every color of the rainbow. They are beautiful. I was thrilled when I got the assignment to create with them.
I wanted to show you how I created my layout with the feathers.
I started out with a 1 1/2 inch circle punch, my tiny attatcher (a stapler would also work), a scrap of white cardstock, and a feather.
The first thing I did was punch a circle out of the white cardstock
The next step is to attach the end of the feather to the edge of the circle with the tiny attacher

Then I continued attaching the feather to the edge of the cardstock circle.
When I was finished this is what the back of the cardstock circle looked like this:
This is what my finished embellishment looked like:
I added a crochet heart to the middle of the cardstock circle on top of the feather to cover up the small amounts of white cardstock showing through.
And here's how I used them on my layout:
I created the background for this layout using Bella Blvd's designer tapes and white cardstock. I simply created a rainbow pattern with the tapes.

And here's the completed layout...
Thanks for stopping by! Have a fantastic day :)

  2. Smart! If this were my assignment, I would have ended up just tucking the feathers in somehow--which is why I'm not a layout designer! :) I like the way the feathers move the eye up the page and then back down the page. Nice job.
