Scrapbooking with Transparencies

At CHA I noticed that there are a lot of companies that are releasing transparent paper and embellishments. Bella Blvd is one of those companies with transparencies. These transparencies are so adorable and there are two different kinds. I used them both on this layout.

The polka dot transparencies I used on this layout are called "clear cuts." Clear Cuts come in tons of bright fun colors and several patterns to accompany all of Bella Blvd's new lines. I cut several colors of the polka dot clear cuts and stitched them to white cardstock to create a fun colorful background.

Behind the photo I used another kind of transparent paper. This one is called an "invisible"

Can we just talk about this photo for one second?... I love it, like really, really love it. I know it's totally imperfect but it's totally us.

The invisibles are less transparent and are made of a thicker, heavier weight plastic. It's not too thick though, it went through my sewing machine with no problems. The other difference in the invisibles is that they come with fancy edges. The one I used on this layout is a scalloped edge.

I also used some of the invisibles on THIS project:

Isn't that big scalloped apple piece cute?!?! I can't wait put more of these on my projects. If you still need a few more ideas on how to use these two products you can find more ideas HERE. You can also find more details about these here:
Are Clear Cuts and Invisibles on your must have list? I know I'm ordering more of the gold and silver polka dot Clear Cuts ;)

American Crafts Valentines Blog Hop

 Happy Valentines Day!

Welcome to my blog for the American Crafts Blog Hop! I'm so excited to share a project about LOVE with you today. It's about love for shoes! I used the Dear Lizzy Polka Dot Party collection for most of this project.
I've been anxious to try die-cutting some of the transparencies with my Silhouette. It worked amazingly well! The little hearts are adorable. I hand stitched with red thread around them to make them stand out against the white background.

And here's the final project! I simply adore how it turned out! Now, even though my little lady's shoes are gone we'll have the memory documented in her scrapbook.
Now you're off to the amazing Ashley Horton's blog. I know she'll have something incredible to share with you today! Thanks for stopping by! Please click the blue button to the right that says "join this site" so you won't miss any blog posts!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Sequins &Transparencies

Hi there! I hope you're cozy warm and safe today. It's -2 degrees at my house today with a windchill of -12. It's supposed to be a whole 10 degrees for the high today...needless to say, I'm not leaving my house today. It's a good day for me to turn the heat up and spend some time at my scrapbooking desk. What are you creating today?

I have project to share with you from Bella Blvd. I used the new Christmas Countdown collection to create this project. I also used a transparency, sequins and my sewing machine to create a huge shaker box that is the base of my layout.
I used a printable transparency and printed my journaling so it's on the top layer of the shaker box.
I then built the rest of my layout on the transparency and stitched it to my background with a few sequins in between the cardstock and the transparency.
 And here's the completed project.
Stay warm and have a great Wednesday!
