Life.Paper.Scrapbook Color Challenge

I'm not going to lie. When I got this color challenge I was so nervous. I typically use TONS of color on my scrapbook projects. I'm not sure I've ever stuck with a neutral color pallet. BUT this is one challenge that I LOVED! I dug through my stash and found a lot of possibilities for this layout and I dove right in.
Here's the color palette we were given:

I had so much fun with this and it was such a different approach for me that I will be doing more neutral projects in the future.

There is a funny story about this layout. I had originally planned for the design to be and "L" shape with white space in the upper right hand corner. I finished the layout and I had it sitting on my desk until I could write the supply list. When I came back to work on the list I found a huge blob of brown ink in the corner of the layout...someone (one of the 18 bazillion children that had been running through my house that day) had opened my ink pad and laid my project right on top of it. I almost cried! I loved this page so much and was so excited that I had completed what I was worried was an impossible task and now it was ruined. I was determined to save it somehow. So....this is what I did:
Under that doily is a huge brown ink blot...I wish now that I had taken a photo of it before I fixed it.
And here's the completed layout:

Weekend get away and Bella Blvd

I'm so excited for spring! I'm tired of the cold and snow! We've seen a few glimpses of spring but so far it hasn't stayed for very long. It will come.....I'm sure it will!!

We've been staying busy around our house. I love staying busy with all of the kiddos around me but sometimes Mom's just need a break! I got to take a weekend off last weekend and took a road trip with some of my favorite girls. We spent a weekend in Salt Lake City. We had the most fun! It's been a LONG time since I've laughed that hard! I'm sure we'll make it a regular trip.

This is a photo of us just before we hit the road.

I do have a scrappy projects to share with you today. It's been waaayyy too long since I've posted a project. OOPS!
The project I have to share is from Bella Blvd. I had a "free for all" assignment so I went a little crazy and used tons of decorative tape, punches, feathers, and letter stickers to create this fun-girly layout. I wanted this layout to be bright, fun, and very girly!

Here's the finished layout. My little lady loves it. I think I'll put it in a frame and hang it up in her bedroom.
Thanks for stopping by. I have a lot more projects to share this week. Make sure and come back :)

Bella Blvd Crochet Hearts

A few weeks ago when I got my box of new products from Bella Blvd the Crochet Hearts stole my heart. I immediately started thinking of project ideas. I was thrilled when I got my assignment to create a project with Crochet Hearts. This layout is on the Bella Blvd blog today! This layout is sitting on an easel in my living room because I love it so much.

I started with a chevron patterned paper and added designer tape to add a layer of dimension and color.

I love Bella's letter stickers and chipboard letters. :)

 And here's the completed layout:

Still playing catch-up

I'm still trying to get caught up from the last few weeks that have been crazy busy around here. I have a layout to share today that was on the life.paper.scrapbook blog. This is the sketch I was given to work with.

I was a little nervous because I don't typically use many circles on my layout. I was excited to try though :)

I dove into my pile of scraps and grabbed my circle cutter and got to work.

And here's the finished project....I have to say that I think I'll be adding a few more circles to my projects. I love how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by. Make sure to visit life.paper.scrapbook for lots of fun challenges and

More with Silhouette Designer Edition Software and Bella Blvd

Hi, I have a second project to share with you today using the Silhouette Designer Edition Software and products from Bella Blvd.

For today's project I used the Sand & Surf collection and I created my own design using the Designer Edition software.
I started with just a plain rectangle.
Then I used the Shear feature and made my rectangle into a parallelogram by clicking on the 30degree button.
Then I drew another rectangle but this time I used the -30degree button to create this arrow shape.
I copied and pasted the shape several times and lined them up with the ruler. Then it was time to cut!
Once again I used the negative space backed with cardstock and washi tape.
Here's a few details from the layout:

And here's the finished project....I love all the bright happy colors and these photos make me laugh!
