Fall is in the air...

Fall is in the air here in Idaho (along with a TON of smoke from wildfires). Fall is my favorite season! I love the cool evenings, the warm days, and the beautiful warm colors. I created a few cards the other day with some scraps that I had sitting on my desk. I bought some cards with envelopes at a yard sale this summer. I also buy card sets on clearance. I've found that this is an inexpensive way to get envelopes. I can completely recreate the card and I don't have to buy those expensive envelopes from the craft or office supply store.

Anyway, back to the fall cards I created. They are both using Bella Blvd products. Their "thankful" line is one of my favorites. If you're looking for a line with great fall colors and embellishments...this is it!

These cards were so simple to make. I covered the card bases with patterned paper, added journaling cards and embellished with chipboard...super easy!

Have a great Friday, thanks for stopping by~

Exciting Announcement

I am beyond excited for this blog post today! So pretend for a moment that I am shouting from the rooftop, "I'm part of the 2012-2013 Bella Blvd Design Team!!!"

I sent in my application a few weeks ago not expecting anything but I kept thinking, "Wouldn't it be awesome if I made the team?" When I got Laura's email I actually screamed. I also may have hit my husband to make sure he was reading the exciting news over my shoulder.

Congrats to all the ladies on the team! I can't wait to work with you!

Bella Blvd is one of the favorite manufacturers. I love their bold colors and their embellishments are fantastic. Perhaps my favorite of their embellishments is one of their newest products designer tape.

Isn't it pretty?!?!?

I'm excited to get to share two of the projects that I submitted with my application.
The first one I wanted to share is a layout I did of my lil man that is about is bright blue eyes. I used a mixture of Bella products from a couple of different lines Mr. boy and Making the Team.
The journaling reads: Austin you look just like Cole and Daddy. You have bright blue eyes and very blonde hair. You are such a handsome little man.
Bold bright colors are my favorite to work with when I'm creating "boy" layouts.

The second project I have to share is a layout about my little guy and a conversation we had about his older siblings going to school. Again, I used a combination of Bella products from a few different lines.

The journaling reads: Mommy: Austin, what are you and mommy going to do when Cole and KK are gone to school? Austin: Well, Lainie won't be in school, she's too little.

I hope you enjoyed your visit to my blog today. I will have many more projects coming up using Bella Blvd products including the remaining to projects from my application.

Everyone knows that I have a bit of a problem when it comes to shopping especially when shopping for scrapbook supplies. One of my very favorite places to shop is ScrapbookSteals.com. They have TWO steals a day (9am and 9pm Mst). I religiously visit this site at least twice a day (sometimes more).
I order from them several times a month. I'm ashamed to say that my kids even know that they should always get the package off the step before dad gets home. (He doesn't really need to know everything, right?)
For the projects that I have to share today I got to use the Martha Stewart glitter. I admit that I'm a girly girl and I love things that sparkle. So creating with glitter was like a big party for me. My house is still sparkling from it.
The first project I have to share is a layout. I started this layout with a pile of chipboard circles that I've had in my stash forever. Because this glitter is so fine I needed some color on the chipboard before I spread the glitter on. I chose to cover my circles with paper. You could use any number of different things...paint, markers, spray ink, stamping ink...
After I covered the circles in paper I used spray adhesive and then applied the glitter. I then used the glittered circles as the main embellishment on my page.

The next project I have to share is a set of cards. I used the glitter and some glossy accents to dress up some stickers. I just highlighted some of the sticker with glossy accents and sprinkled the glitter on top. I did let the glue dry overnight before I tapped the excess glitter off, I wanted to make sure the glossy accents didn't run when I tipped the sticker.

I made another card with this glitter. I used it to accent the sticker as well as covering a piece of wood veneer.  I love how the glitter dressed up the cake stand and made it stand out. I'm so happy with how it turned out.
Thanks for stopping by! Congrats on hopping all the way to the end. Come back and visit again :)

And they're off..

Well, the kiddos started school yesterday. They were excited and very ready! I however, wasn't ready for my little missy to go. We've been doing online schooling for her first 2 years of school so she's always been home with me. She's my little shadow. So, lets just say this was a sad site for the momma to see... I feel a little lost without her.

Despite the look on Cole's face he was excited to go back to school. He's just getting way too old and is way too cool to have mom take his picture shy, ya, that's it too shy ;)

Now that they are back in school and I'm just home with this lil man I'm going to get more time to spend on my scrapbook projects, I'm so excited!

Here is a project I finished not too long ago.

I wanted to create a layout that showed how we are busy all the time but spend most of our time with family, these are some of my favorite photos from the summer.

Thanks for stopping by....have a great day!

Back from a Mini Vacation

Well, the last weekend of the summer is over. We had a great labor day weekend! We got to spend the weekend with some of my family at the cabin. We played, rested, relaxed, and then played some more. We got to spend the day in Jackson Hole. The kids favorite spot was the candy shop....no surprise there :)

Don't you love that lil grin? He could hardly contain himself! He wanted to buy a yard of bubble gum. Luckily we talked him into some tootsie rolls and saltwater taffy.

Doesn't every family who goes to Jackson Hole have the traditional photo by the antler arches? Cole was SO happy to have another picture taken.
He did, however, let me take a "cool" photo of  him posing with Abraham Lincoln.

I don't know if you've ever had the chance to drive to Jackson Hole but the drive is gorgeous. Here's one of the photos I snapped while we were driving home.

Our next stop was Cave Falls in Yellowstone Park. Grampy told the boys he would give them $5
if they would lay in river long enough for us to get pictures. They did it! They FROZE but they did it. That water was SO SO cold!

After a great weekend we've been cleaning, doing laundry, and getting ready for school to start tomorrow....the big day will finally be here tomorrow. They. can. not. wait. (I, however, will be a puddle of tears watching them get on the bus).
The little missy already has her outfit already to go...
Until next time...I'll have some of these photos scrapped and have some back to school photos to share.
