Elle's Studio Guest Designer {Process Video Included}

(This post contains affiliate links. For more details check my disclosure page)
Recently I got one of those happy news emails. The one with fun scrapbooking opportunities inside. The opportunity was guest designing for Elle's Studio. I designed for Elle's Studio on a regular basis a couple of years ago. I love her products and have missed creating with them. I was thrilled with the chance to dive back into her products again.

I created two layouts. One featuring the March kit, both featuring the new Little Moments collection. When I created the layout with the March kit, I filmed a process video too. This layout came together so quickly with journaling cards and a grid design.
 Here's the completed layout:

The second layout I created with the Little Moments collection and my Silhouette Cameo. I used my Cameo to create a custom title. I used two fonts (a script font and a block font). After I cut the title from patterned paper I outlined the die cuts with a precision pen

How to Create a Handstitched Card Using the Silhouette Cameo

(This post contains affiliate links. For more details check my disclosure page)
Hello, I'm excited to share with you a tutorial for an adorable card using the Silhouette Sketch Pens. and the Silhouette Cameo. This is the card I created:
How to create a handstitched card using the Silhouette Came #cardmaking #SilhouetteCameo #Papercrafting
 I started by opening the “love” cut file in Silhouette Studio. I placed the cut file on the mat where I knew my card base would be. Then, I adjusted my cut setting to work with  the Silhouette Sketch Pen.

Then I sent my card base through my Silhouette Cameo with a black pen.

What I like about this technique is that you can use any color of pen or pencil to match the color of the embroidery floss you’d like to use for your hand stitching. For this card, I chose black.

After I had the lines drawn, I poked holes along each line with a paper piercer. I poked the holes about ¼ to ⅛ inch apart.

Then, I stitched all the way around the word “love” with black embroidery floss.

After I finished stitching I added a couple of small embellishments, a couple of strips of patterned paper, and a sticker to finish the card.

I love adding hand stitched elements to my paper crafting projects. It adds a personal handmade touch to any project.

Using the Silhouette and the sketch pens makes hand stitching that much easier.

I hope you love your Silhouette as much as I do? What is your favorite project using the Silhouette?

Scrapbooking/Pocket Page Process Video {We The People}

(This post contains affiliate links. For more details check my disclosure page)
Hello friends. Happy Monday! Today I have a process video to share with you that includes a pocket page layout and a traditional 12x12 layout. This is the first time I've included a pocket page layout to go with a traditional layout. I love how it turned out. I'll be combining them again in the future, for sure!
In February I traveled to Boise with my oldest son to a "We The People" competition. There were 19 kids in the group from his school. I am so SO grateful that I was able to attend this competition with my son and his peers. I was so impressed with these kids. They were interviewed by a panel of judges that included attorneys, judges, law professors, and attorney generals. They handled themselves amazingly well. They surpassed my wildest expectations. I was so proud to be a part of their group!
This 12x12 layout documents a few of my feelings as well as my sons perspective about the trip. I think you'll love this video.
 I included a pocket page next to this layout because there we SO many photos of this event. I took my big DSLR camera and my phone, so I had TONS of photos from this event. I documented this event not too long after we got home. It was such an amazing event I didn't want to forget any details. I still don't have all of the photos scrapbooked. I will work on that and possibly have another process video.

Thanks for stopping by today. I'd love to see how you document the special events in your life that include a LOT of photos. Do you put all of them on traditional layouts or do you include pocket pages?
