I'm sure you've all visited the Tater Tots and Jello blog before (yeah, it's pretty awesome)! I've been waiting for this day for a LONG time! I did a guest blog post for Jen using her collections from Pebbles. I've worked with her collections for a long time and I can say that I truly LOVE her products. When I was asked to do a post for her I knew I wanted to use the recipe box (I think it's adorable). Here's a little preview of what you'll find on the Tater Tots and Jello blog today:

How to Create a Layout using Circles of Patterned Paper
One of the most recent collections from Bella Blvd is themed around families. Even more specifically around the chaos and busyness that comes with a family. When I was working with this collection I wanted to create a layout that had a photo of our home and of our kids. Life at our home is often crazy with three kids we're often running in three different directions. As crazy as life is right now, I know that there will be a day when our home is much more quiet. For me, that day is coming much too quickly. I love having my kiddos at home with me. Being at home with my family is my happy place.
I created this layout with lots of circles, lots of bows, and lots of color to emphasize the craziness.

Why I Joined the Memory Planner Club
I've always had a paper planner of some sort. I was the nerd in high school and carrying my Franklin Planner. Do you remember those? I LOVE my planners! When the whole planner craze hit the scrapbooking world, I resisted. And I may have even said that I would never keep a "fancy" planner. My planners have been practical, not very pretty, and very used. I didn't see the purpose in making a planner pretty. Why I didn't think a planner needed to be pretty, I'm not sure. I still don't think a planner has to be pretty, but I've decided that I want my planner to be pretty.
When the Heidi Swapp Memory Planner came out I fell in love with it. I love that it combines memory keeping with the everyday "stuff" that goes on. And that my friends, is why I'm starting the month of August with a Memory Planner. I'm going to combine my memory keeping with the "stuff" that happens every day.
One thing that I love about this planner is that you can start it at any time. The monthly pages aren't filled in so it will work for any month in any year. Starting a planner in January hasn't made sense to me since I've had school aged kids. I always start fresh with a new schedule and a new planner in August.
To get my planner started I printed my kids school schedules, my schedule, and gathered some fun embellishments. I may have gone a little overboard with the embellishments, no judging.
Along with the embellishments I gathered some adhesive. I chose This To That Adhesive from American Crafts because I love the size (it fits easily in my bag) and Glue Dots because they're a stronger adhesive for holding the heavier embellishments like chipboard and wood veneer. I also have a package of my favorite pens in my planner bag, Precision Pens.
I may or may not have stolen this little bag from my mom because all of my planner stuff fits into it perfectly. I can easily take the bag with me if I need to or just take my planner with me. The bag sits on a shelf in my closet, packed and ready to go whenever I need it. I'm going to try using this bag for a while but I have my eye on this bag from We R Memory Keepers. I think it would work great a planner tote too!
I'm curious? Have you jumped on the planner bandwagon?
