I love thrift stores, really love them! After a trip I took to the thrift store I created this DIY interchangeable frame. I could spend hours and hours walking through thrift stores. I'm usually guilty of buying books and dishes. Once in a while I'll pick up an old home decor piece. I picked up a wooden circle frame when I was at a thrift store in Utah several months ago. I didn't know exactly what I was going to do with it but I knew that it was coming home with me and that I would find the perfect project for it. When I was playing with the * Yesterday collection from Carta Bella
I knew I'd found the perfect project for my old circle frame.
I started by tracing the inside of the frame onto a neutral piece of patterned paper.
Then on the inside of the circle I stamped several doilies from the * Yesterday stamp set using *
Versamark ink.
I then embossed the doilies that I stamped with * clear embossing powder.
After I finished the background it was time to have some fun with embellishments.
I used my hot glue gun to adhere most of the embellishments. Because this is a home decor piece I wanted to make sure that the embellishments were going to stay put.
After I added a few embellishments I added a mini clothespin
I added a mini clothes pin because I wanted to be able to change the photo when we got a new family photo. I can also add photos of my kids, quotes, or notes. I love that by just adding a clothespin the frame instantly becomes so versatile.
That's it! This project only took me about an hour to create. Now I need to do a major clean up!
Thanks for stopping by today. This DIY interchangeable photo frame was so easy and so fun to create. I think you should try creating your own. What do you think?
This turned out beautifully Becki....what a fun idea!
